Preparing for URC
Two years ago, RoboNav began their long-term plan to move away from the Intelligent Ground Vehicle Competition (IGVC) and instead begin participating in the University Rover Challenge (URC). We previously introduced this upcoming change in the March 2021 newsletter. The University Rover Competition still keeps the core focus of RoboNav, autonomous navigation, while increasing the…

Every year, RoboJackets reserves a lecture hall in Howey to host General Interest meetings, where new students at Georgia Tech can come and hear more about RoboJackets so they can pick their teams and join RoboJackets in earnest. This year’s GI drew a combined 317 interested students. RoboCup and RoboNav saw the highest number of…
Meet the 2022-2023 Project Managers

This is the second year that alumni have helped in the planning and execution…

AVC (Angry Vehicle Competition)
Some alumni may remember that RoboJackets has brought combat robots and RoboRacing robots, including Bigoli, out to Colorado to compete at Sparkfun AVC (Autonomous Vehicle Competition). Sparkfun has since stopped hosting that competition, but this past May a new AVC took its place: the Angry Vehicle Competition. This new AVC only has combat robotics in…
