Electrical Training

Electrical Training Leads: Braiden Anderson, Alex Sareh

RoboJackets’ electrical training focuses on preparing our new members for general hardware-focused projects that they will likely come across throughout their time here. Our schedule begins with basic electricity concepts and Arduino prototyping basics, then moves into common electricity components, choosing KiCad parts and libraries. Next, we cover building schematics and laying out PCBs in KiCad. Finally we end the training with a workshop that focuses on teaching surface mount (SMD) and through-hole (THT) soldering.

Meetings Times & Important Resources

Strictly for Fall 2025, all of our training sessions will be in-person. Sessions will be held Monday and Tuesday from 6:30 – 8:00 PM. Week 1 training begins Monday/Tuesday September 15/16th. You will only need to attend one training session per week because they are identical.

If you have any lingering questions left after a training ends, please feel free to ask questions to our trainers through our Slack channel, #electrical-training-helpdesk. For general questions, please feel free to ask questions in #training-helpdesk!
