The RoboJackets had their hands full at the sixth annual Georgia Robotics Invitational Tournament and Showcase (GRITS). On October 4, members from our Outreach group and the competition teams volunteered as staff to help put on Georgia’s off-season FIRST event.
Our members kept the competition field running, helped oversee safety in the competition pit areas, and worked with rookie groups of students to compete in last year’s FRC game, Aerial Assist. The event was a great opportunity for new students to whet their appetite for competition robotics as they gear up for the upcoming FRC season. We look forward to helping out with the coming year’s game as event coordinators, volunteers, and mentors.

What is a Maker Faire? Simply put, a Maker Faire is an event created by Make magazine to “celebrate arts, crafts, engineering, science projects and the Do-It-Yourself (DIY) mindset.” But don’t take our word for it. Come by and take a look for yourself!
When? October 4th and 5th 10am-5pm
Where?: 125 W Trinity Place, Decatur, GA 30030. That will put you at the parking deck right across the street from Exhibition Area A.
Besides the mind blowing exhibits that will be displayed at the Maker Faire, RoboJackets will be in attendance hosting a mini Battlebot competition in the 8×8 ft RoboJackets Arena! Come show your interest and support of Atlanta’s creative individuals!

National Robotics week is coming up! This year on April 8th, 2014, our members will be working with the Institute for Robotics and Intelligent Machines (IRIM) to provide tour guides for the campus Open House. During the day, school groups come to campus to see various robotics labs across campus from the IRIM(2nd floor of the College of Computing building) to GTRI to the Heath Systems Institute.
