The IARRC team of the Georgia Tech RoboJackets had a blast competing in the International Autonomous Robot Racing Challenge in Waterloo, Canada. The competition was comprised of 3 events: an autonomous drag race, and autonomous circuit race, and a design presentation. The RoboJackets came in 4th overall in the competition, and walked away with a judges award for “Best Mechanical Design.”
After spending a few wonderful days in Canada, the RoboJackets IARRC team took first place in both the drag and circuit races for an overall first place finish.
We would like to thank the University of Waterloo for their efforts in organizing and hosting this great event.
6 Representing members of our International Autonomous Robot Racing team made their way up to Waterloo, Canada today to compete with our inaugural entry in this year’s IARRC. To help get us in the racing spirit, our long drive from Atlanta to Waterloo was punctuated by a pit stop at the Bowling Green Corvette manufacturing facility and museum. The team will spend Friday making last-minute tweaks and adjustments to the platform and software while undergoing safety inspection. Saturday marks our racing debut, where the team will participate in the drag race and circuit race competitions. For more information, check out the competition website, and stay tuned on our social media outlets for updates!
