RoboWrestling specializes in autonomous robot combat in the style of Japanese Sumo tournaments. Weight, speed, and reaction time are crucial factors in the sport of Robot-Sumo. RoboWrestling builds new bots every year and iterates on the successful bots of previous years and is currently focusing on build more robust and durable systems for their robots that implement the most up to date strategies and metas for robot sumo.
The Competitions
Competition Format
Robot Sumo is an autonomous form of combat robots where the robots fight to push each other out of a circular arena. RoboWrestling at Georgia Tech competes in 4 different categories of Robot Sumo. 3kg autonomous and remote control, and 500g autonomous and remote control (with autonomous being what we are best known for). Our robots are defined by their constraints which are simply that the robot cannot be over the weight limit of the category, and cannot be over 20cm x 20cm or 10cm x 10cm respectively. Other than that, the sky’s the limit… FR, there’s no height limit, and our robots are known for being freaky fast!
