RoboRacing: Sparkfun Autonomous Vehicle Challenge

Follow the progress of our RoboRacing team as they compete in the Sparkfun Autonomous Vehicle Challenge in Boulder, CO. Races will be live streamed at avc.sparkfun.com today from 9am to 4pm Mountain Time. Our robot Speedi will be racing in the Classic AVC race.

Tired of watching car races? No problem. Our Battlebots team has two beetle weight (3lb) class combat robots competing as well.

RoboCup Competition 2016

Our RoboCup team traveled to Leipzig, Germany for the 20th annual RoboCup competition.  We learned a lot for next year and had a lot of fun! We look forward to next year’s RoboCup competition in Japan, where we plan on improving our new fleet of robots!

Battlebots Motorama 2016

Our robots fought valiantly this past weekend at Motorama’s Robot Conflict event in Harrisburg, PA. We improved our designs from previous years to field robots able to take substantial damage as well as give it. One 3lb battlebot reached a quarterfinal and
Cathii, our 30lb battlebot, won her first ever fight!

IGVC Team Competes in Rochester, MI

The RoboJackets’ Intelligent Ground Vehicle Competition team and their robot Mistii recently attended competition at Oakland University in Rochester Michigan from June 5-8. Mistii, a 3 wheeled, 300lb autonomous vehicle, contended with adverse weather conditions and muddy terrain over the four days of the event. The team was ultimately unable to qualify on the track but came closer to their goal than in the previous two years. The object of the competition is to create and program a robot that can navigate an outdoor obstacle course comprised of barrels, painted lines, and gps waypoints without any human assistance.
